Meet the maker

Hi, I'm Hannah, a Yorkshire born creative with a soft spot for country music, strong brews, and cowboy boots. Childhood memories of line dancing and linedancing competitions infuse my work with rhythm, warmth, and a touch of rustic charm. Bringing heart, heritage, and a whole lot of soul to every creation.

Why Black Cactus?

Black Cactus was born from ink and instinct. The name comes from some of my earliest tattoos, these are black hearts, cacti and succulents, combined with the little agave icon that’s stayed with me through every chapter.

It’s personal. It’s rooted. And if you asked me in person, I’d probably tell you it’s because my heart’s a little black and I can be a little prickly. But this isn’t just my story.

Black Cactus grew from the love and encouragement of small business pals, artists, creatives, and close friends who saw something in this dusty little dream and cheered it into reality. Every tassel, every detail, carries a piece of that journey, handmade with boho soul and crafted for the kind of boots that dance through life.

My background

I grew up line dancing with my mum and grandma, and those early days quickly turned into competitions, rhinestone covered costumes, and boots that saw floors up and down the country. My mum was the creative force behind every stitch and sparkle, and she’s definitely one of my biggest inspirations.

Creativity has always been part of my daily life. With a background in graphic design and a lifelong love for making things by hand, I’ve always chased creative outlets that feel personal and expressive.

Black Cactus has been a passion project for while. Quietly growing roots, gathering inspiration and now it’s bloomed into an indie business that I’m proud to share with you.

Thank you for being here, for supporting handmade, and for walking this dusty little road with me.
